We must always forgive

Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?” “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven! Mat 18:21-22. There is no limit on the number of times we must forgive. Forgiveness is grace, Gods unmerited favour that we received when Jesus died for us. Forgiveness should form part of our character, born from a heart of compassion as we desire to become more like Jesus in everything we do. When we forgive, we don’t recall past offences that can create hurt, but we love them and keep praying for them that God will move powerfully in their lives to change them and fill them with His peace. Our actions reflect our faith, so let’s ensure they always honour God. Thank Jesus today for forgiving us. When dealing with those who continue to hurt us, ask Him for His grace, heart of compassion and wisdom to guide us and strengthen us.
