The grass is not always greener on the other side

Stolen bread tastes sweet, but it turns to gravel in the mouth. PR 20:17. The grass is not always greener on the other side. It’s a false perspective to think that what we can’t have is better than what do have. Often the problem lies with us as much as others, so that running off with another person, to another job or to another land will not change things as we end up taking our bad baggage with us and find ourselves in exactly the same place as we were before,in the not too distant future. People are often blinded to the high cost before they act that can result in a lifetime of pain and regret. The only solution is to lay your problems and temptations at the foot of the cross and ask our Lord for His guidance and wisdom as there is no temptation that we can’t overcome. Thank God today for His strength, guidance and wisdom, and as we do things His way and not our way, we will never lose our peace or joy.
